A little over 3 years ago, a friend suggested that we try Hyperion and work out at the park. I had never been one to go to a gym or really work out much, but my weight had been increasing, and I was having problems with my hips, so I thought this might be a good way to see if losing some weight would help with my pain. There were a group of 5 of us, and we were terrified. Who is this “Eric” guy? He looked kind of scary. But because we knew we’d be letting each other down if we didn’t show up, we were there, bright and early (well, maybe not so bright) at 5:30 a.m. every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. It was hard. Really hard. I could barely do a sit-up. But there were so many others who were in the same situation. So many others who were really strong. They were an inspiration. Day after day, month after month, we committed to these workouts. Not only was I getting stronger and losing weight, I was having fun! The people at Hyperion are the most encouraging and fun group that I have ever met. Laughing was a big part of the hour, making time fly by.
I have now been a member of the Hyperion family for 3+ years. I reached my goal weight after about 2 years, losing 45 pounds, and most important, I feel healthy. My fitness and nutrition habits have completely changed, and I’m a happier person. Eric Selvian is motivating and always positive. And “can’t” is literally not in his vocabulary. He is always supportive and truly cares about every person there. Thank you, Eric, for always pushing me farther than I think I’m able to!
